“I am fine – under the circumstances,” Eriksen writes after suffering cardiac arrest

Christian Eriksen

Christian Eriksen has penned his “big thanks” to everyone “around the world” for their sweet and amazing messages since he was hospitalized due to a cardiac arrest suffered while representing his national side, Denmark.

In Saturday’s Euro 2020 game between Denmark and Finland at the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen, the Danish playmaker collapsed on the pitch causing panic, just minutes before half-time, and the medical emergency caused the suspension of the match.

With the help of Denmark football captain Simon Kjaer, who is now been hailed as a hero,  Christian Eriksen received an urgent CPR before he was revived by a team of medics and subsequently rushed to the hospital for further diagnosis and treatment.

The Dane, who’s now in good condition, took to his verified Instagram account to thank everyone for their support.

“Big thanks for your sweet and amazing greetings and messages from all around the world. It means a lot to me and my family,” he wrote.

“I’m  fine – under the circumstances. I still have to go through some examinations at the hospital, but I feel okay.

“Now, I will cheer on the boys on the Denmark team in the next matches. Play for all of Denmark.”
