Rising from the ashes of systemic limitations Abubakar Sadiq Abdulsalam, professionally known as Gen. Sadiq, is a force of nature in the new wave of Dancehall and Hip-Hop music.
Too dynamic to be confined to a single genre, he has carved his own lane by fusing hard-hitting Hip-Hop with pulsating Dancehall rhythms, crafting a signature sound he calls “Rebirth in Mind.”
Born and raised in Etsako West LGA, Edo State, Nigeria, Gen. Sadiq’s journey is one of transformation. Exposed to the rough edges of street life, he navigated a world of struggle, where survival often meant making hard choices. But music became his escape – his revolution. Refusing to conform, he embraced his own path, channeling raw experiences into powerful, conscious storytelling.
Now, with the release of his debut single “My Way,” Gen. Sadiq declares his independence, breaking free from the systems designed to hold him back.
“Breaking barriers, overthrowing limitations—that’s the real joy of a certified thugger. I did it My Way.” – Gen. Sadiq
A revolutionary artist for a new era, Gen. Sadiq isn’t just making music – he’s leading a movement.
