The video of Americans singing Burna Boy’s “Ye” while protesting the death of George Floyd is all you need to see.
Floyd, an African-American man, was killed in Minnesota on the 25th May, 2020.
While he was handcuffed and lying face-down on the city street during an arrest, he repeated the words “I can’t breathe”. Unfortunately, this situation led to his death.
Floyd’s death had sparked outrage across the world. It became one of many widely-publicized killings of African-American in the United States, by the police.
In one of the protests which was recorded, Americans chanted Burna Boy’s hit track “Ye” while walking on the streets with plaques that read “Black Lives Matter“.
Burna Boy’s ‘Ye’ is a pro-black song that suggests blacks ought not to die for nothing. It is no surprise protesters chanted to the ‘Ye’ vibes paying homage to George Floyd.
