Don Jazzy opens up on relationship with D’Banj

The Chief Executive Officer of Mavin Records, Don Jazzy, has spoken on his perceived constrained relationship with D’banj, his first artiste at Mo’hits.

D’banj left Mo’hit Records in 2012 as a feud between him and Don Jazzy boiled over with the latter moving on to establish Mavin Records.

According to sources, the breakup bordered around the ownership claim of Mo’hits. It was disclosed that Don Jazzy demanded D’banj to own up and pay all the debts of Mo’hits Records since he publicly declared that he owned 100% of the songs under Mo’hits imprint.

Shortly after their separation, there were speculations that the two ended things on bad terms. Despite both artistes coming out to debunk such rumors, many refuse to believe that all is well between them.

Meanwhile, the Mavin boss has taken to Instagram to address the speculations. Speaking with Triple MG boss, Ubi Franklin in an Instagram live session,  Don Jazzy emphasized on the importance of maintaining  good relationship with his artistes as the CEO of his brand.

Don Jazzy quipped in:

“Bond with your artist more, it’s not everything that contract can solve but it is good to have a structure in place so that if by any chance things get out of hand you can step in and the contract can be what you guys can use to solve your problem but I try to make sure that it doesn’t get to that.”

Don Jazzy stressed that despite the hullabaloo making the rounds about his perceived constrained relationship with D’banj, they had no personal issues.
