Growing ‘‘concern’’ at Man Utd with transfer plans in shambles

Following a nightmare season that saw Man Utd finish sixth position in the English Premier League (EPL) as well as dumped out of the UEFA Champions League by Barcelona, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer knew he had a massive rebuilding job at the club this summer.

Of a truth, the summer transfer window offers the Norwegian boss an opportunity to make significant changes to his squad by bringing in players that fit into his philosophy.

The summer transfer plan also include selling underperforming stars with former club captain Antonio Valencia already exited the Old Trafford club.

On the other hand, it has been massively reported that Solskjaer expects Romelu Lukaku to seek pastures abroad with Inter Milan and Juventus now in the fray to sign the Belgium International.

Man Utd signed Daniel James for a fee reported to be  £15m

So far, Man Utd have splashed out about £65m on exciting prospects Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka signed from Swansea and Crystal Palace respectively.

Meanwhile, there’s a growing “concern” that transfer plans are in shambles at the club despite Solskjaer acknowledging that “there will probably be some more business” in the current transfer window.

The fear, as expressed by a Twitter user, is that the club is losing hold of stars that should form the pillar of Solskjaer’s rebuild process.

Ander Herrera has left the club to sign for French Ligue 1 giants, Paris Saint German while Paul Pogba is angling for a move away from Old Trafford.

It is also known that David de Gea is stalling on signing a new contract at the club. It is even more worrisome as most players who unreformed in the past season are still at the club.

Alexis Sanchez Alexis Sanchez has failed to make the grade at United

There has been no significant offers for the club’s failing crop of Matteo Darmian, Jones, Sanchez and Lingard. An indication that perhaps “the squad is getting worse and worse”.

Solskjaer has until the 8th of August to bring in players to rejuvenate the Man Utd spirit and tradition. However, the Norwegian must find a way to keep the club’s most prized stars.
